When
the winter chrysanthemums go,
There is nothing to write about
but radishes.
-Basho
I
embrace both the exuberance of the winter chrysanthemum and the
directness of the radish in my work. I am particularly drawn to
pattern, which I often employ to stimulate the retina and to evoke
a range of references. Printmaking is a medium that lends itself
to creating patterns of endless variation, as images can be repeated
multiple times in different permutations. Every day I enter my
studio excited to make visible what I have only imagined.
